To ALL OF MY DEAR FRIENDS WHO HAVE THE HEART
FOR FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY and HUMAN RIGHTS,

P1010373_face0

The Ideal for living in the free countries of the world is knowing how to use the powers of FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY and HUMAN RIGHTS. However, the brutality of the communist regimes are still dominating our lives everywhere. Nelson Mandela of South Africa was imprisoned for 28 years because of his dream and fighting for FREEDOM and EQUALITY.
Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma was isolated for 21 years in her own house because she wanted FREEDOM for her country. Luu Huu Ba of China, a Nobel Prize winner, is still without his FREEDOM under the Communist Chinese domination. We will never forget about the people and sacrifices that they made forFREEDOM, DEMOCRACY and HUMAN RIGHTS.

My dear friends,
No matter what, we must rememeber that there are still thousands and thousands of people like Nelson Mandela, San Suu Kyu and Luu Huu Ba who are still suffering in the darkness of life. Unfortunatel, they are not recognized by people everywhere, their voices unheard, they are the unknown heroes among the thousands of prisoners in Viet Nam.
Father Tadeo Nguyen Van Ly, has been in jail for the past 20 years, and is still there because he wanted to raise his voice for the Freedom of Religion. Doctor Nguyen Dan Que, has been under house arrest because he did not agree with the Communist government policies.

 MyMy dear

Nguyen Huu Cau, a musician and composer known as the "Century Prisoner", K2, Z30A, Xuân Lộc, Đồng Nai Viet Nam.
Viet Nam is still locked up in the Communist jail for the past 37 years. Nguyen Huu Cau was a captain in the South Republic Viet Nam. After the Fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975, he was imprisoned with other South Viet Nam Government personnel in a concentration camp known as the "Re-education Camp". After six years in the camp, he was released to come back to his own town that was now miserable, in poverty, and the citizens hungry. He used his talents in music to create songs describing what he saw and knew, songs about the people of the old regime with no hope, and of the unfair treatment of them by the people now in charge of the nation.

The Viet Nam Communist arrested him again, placing him in jail under a Death penalty, which was then decreased to a Life sentence. Toda, more than 30 years later, Captain Nguyen Huu Cau is still locked under solitary confinement. Because of the extremely poor condition of the Viet Nam Communist prison facilities, Captain Nguyen Huu Cau is now blind in both eyes, his body wrecked with malnurishment, and a heart problem. Captain Nguyen Huu Cau has suffered for many years in the prison, under the brutal punishment by the Viet Nam Communist. There is no hope for him to survive much longer.

Even with his health in critical condition, the Communist Government will not release him and allow his family to get him even the minimal treatment for his health problems. It is well known that in Viet Nam there is no obligation, no rights, no demands, no hospital for the prisoners of war. To all of my dear friends who love Freedom and Humanity, to the Media powers, to the Human Rights Watch Organization, please raise your voices to protect the people who have no help, those who are still hopelessly under the power of the Communist.

Please raise your voice for Captain Nguyen Huu Cau, as well as for those who dared to cry out for Human Rights. I am asking all of you to seriously consider the contents of this letter, and to forward the message to Amnesty International, the Government authorities, to the Senators and Congressmen of the countries in which you are living to help us to save the lives of those who were wrongfully punished and jailed for speaking out for FREEDOM, DEMOCRACY and HUMAN RIGHTS.
Very Respectfully yours,
NGUYEN THI NGOC HANH

"Saving Liu Xia 2014" Launched Liuxiaobo.net
Friends of Liu Xiaobo
Citizen Power for China / Initiatives for China
unnamed

Washington, D.C. – According to Reuters and other media, as well as her own letters that have been smuggled out of China, Ms. Liu Xia, the wife of the imprisoned Nobel Peace Laureate Liu Xiaobo, is suffering from severe depression and is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The source of her stress is not only her husband’s imprisonment and the persecution of her family, but the fact that the Chinese government has kept her under house arrest ever since her husband won the Nobel Peace Prize three years ago.

During these three years her movements have been severely restricted. She cannot go anywhere without a police escort. No one can visit her home. No one can call her and she cannot call out. Even the letters that she and her husband write to each other every week are confiscated.
Liu Xia has never been charged with a crime, yet she is living in a prison.

John F. Kennedy stated that, "When one man is enslaved, all are not free."  We cannot ignore Liu Xia’s illegal detention.

On this International Human Rights Day, we, Liuxiaobo.net, the Friends of Liu Xiaobo and Citizen Power for China/Initiatives for China, are launching an initiative -" Saving Liu Xia 2014 "– to raise awareness of her plight, show her the world is standing with her and to pressure the Chinese Government to stop persecuting her.
Because of her house arrest, Liu Xia has disappeared from all social life, so the "Saving Liu Xia 2014" will start off with a missing person poster campaign aimed at getting Liu Xia out of isolation and back into her world. The campaign will start on December 10, 2013, and you can participate by creating your own Liu Xiao missing persons poster. A template file can be found here: http://liuxiaobo.net

We urge those who care to print it out, add their own words and then post around their workplace, or in other public places. Take a picture of their poster and send it toliuxiaobo.net@gmail.com and we’ll post pictures from around the world that show support for Liu Xia and Liu Xiaobo.
We also urge that this message and related info be posted Facebook, wechat, blog, Twitter, Instagram,–everywhere the word can be helped to spread.  We hope this strong support for Liu Xia will make the Chinese Government take responsibility!

The hash tag of this campaign is #savingliuxia
Another way to participate is to download the postcard and mail it to governments and friends to raise their awareness.
At the same time, we are launching a prize challenge. We are collecting donations to go toward a prize for the person who can hang a poster as close as possible to Liu Xia’s home in Beijing. Her address is #9 Yuyuantan Road, Building 17, Unit 4, Room 501, Beijing 100038.  To compete for the prize, one has submit a photo of the poster that has some identifying background details so we can award the prize to the most ingenious person! The prize information will be updated on the campaign web page located at Liuxiaobo.net
Have you seen her?
She broke no laws, yet lost her freedom;
She is Liu Xia, the wife of jailed Nobel Peace Laureate Liu Xiaobo;
We miss her.

Dear Friends,
2013 has been a very rough year for human rights activists and dissidents in China, as the new Communist leadership has become even more repressive against them. As one of the most active Chinese human rights organizations, Citizen Power for China (aka Initiatives for China) has ramped up its grassroots civil society work to fight for those who have been silenced.

Our focus in 2013 is to raise awareness of Chinese prisoners of conscience, especially
the jailed Nobel Peace Laureate Liu Xiaobo and his wife Liu Xia who has been under house arrest for over 3 years. By working with Archbishop Desmond Tutu, International Human Rights Lawyer Jared Genser and Freedom Now, we have helped secure the support of nearly half a million people and 135 Nobel prize winners to demand Liu Xiaobo’s freedom. We also worked with the U.S. human rights ambassador to raise Liu Xiaobo’s case in the UN Human Rights Council, brought Liu Xia’s case before the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention, and launched a campaign to encourage more people to visit Liu Xia. We have also continued our fight to free Dr. Wang Bingzhang who is serving a life sentence in a Chinese prison. Some progress has been made toward negotiating humanitarian release for him by working closely with the members of the US Congress. In addition, Citizen Power for China/Citizen Power for China has also labored hard to assist the families of imprisoned human rights defenders Gao Zhisheng, Guo Feixiong,Xu Zhiyong,Ding Jiaxi,Zhao Changqing and Li Huanjun.

One of our highlights in 2013 was the campaign to stop China from winning a seat on the UN Human Rights Council. By working with many human rights activist and ethnic group leaders inside China we collected over 12,000 petitions — many are either well-known human rights activists or victims of human rights abuses — against China’s membership on the UNHRC. By working with the International Tibet Network and Avaaz.org, we were able to collect over 1 million signatures from people around the world who joined our campaign.

We continued to build a multi-ethnic and multi-faith pro-democracy coalition through our ongoing Interethnic/Interfaith Leadership Conference. Our 2013 conference was successfully held in Taiwan, attended by influential ethnic leaders such as the Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile Mr. Penpa Tsering, Taiwan Legislative Yuan members, Uyghur and Mongolian human rights leaders, Christians, Falungong Practitioners and grassroots activists from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Such a coalition will not only be necessary to force the hands of the Chinese regime for peaceful democratic transition but also critical in the future when the Chinese regime collapses if we want to avoid ethnic bloodshed.

We have got our work cut out for us in 2014. We will continue to be the voice for those who have been silenced by the Chinese regime, and continue to focus on freeing Chinese prisoners of conscience, mobilize the grassroots efforts to pressure the Chinese government to approve the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, build a support network for the victims of China’s human right abuses, particularly those who lost their land and home to China’s predatory development, launch an international campaign to punish individual human rights abusers from China, and promote the Internet freedom.

We are hoping to raise another $120,000 to carry out these campaigns and initiatives. Without donations like yours, our organization won’t have sufficient funds to execute these programs. With your support, I can promise you that Citizen Power for China/Initiatives for China will have a greater impact in 2014. Together we can help the victims of the Chinese regime and transform China into a peaceful democratic country. But without your help that won’t be possible. Please Donate to Citizen Power For China/Initiatives for China today! Thank you very much for your support.
